Kareem El Arab is a creatively driven Lebanese graduate from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Digital Media currently living in the United States. Born and raised in Kuwait, Kareem came from a loving family that embraced his vision and artistic integrity. Being in a household with a fashion-forward, feng shui obsessed, melodramatic mother and a stoic father that has the mentality of a generous prophet, a snore so loud it shakes the floors and a Paul Blart mall cop-humor; all allowed Kareem to shape into the charismatic person that he is.
His main passions derive from the storytelling elements of the television and film world. As a screenwriter, director, and editor, Kareem’s aspirations are to showcase Middle Eastern stories to the world and raise awareness of social climates in different Arab countries to strip away stereotypes and create an atmosphere of relatability and comfort to an Arab kid somewhere overseas. He also enjoys other storytelling elements through different mediums, such as post-production, color-grading and creating make-up/sfx practical effects for film projects. Striving to be a jack of all trades.
Kareem also has a passion for graphic design and mixed media. Creating album covers, posters, backgrounds, wallpapers and other forms of art to occupy his time and to keep his creativity on track. Mostly inspired by nostalgia and the little things; Kareem constantly challenges himself to keep his ideas unique, camp, and ironic. His favorite genres are comedy, drama and horror, which he emulates in all his work to help create a unique mix of the three. Blending chaos with humor has always been Kareem’s forte.
In his spare-time, Kareem enjoys discovering new music, keeping up to date with pop-culture, discovering new artists, obsessing over the art of drag, rewatching runways and playing video-games. He also embraces delusion and conjures character designs, television show ideas, sketches and much more in the little space he calls his room in quarantine. Ultimately Kareem’s main ambition is to help spread his creativity onto multiple television screens and help others do the same. He is a passionate artist that wants you to laugh at his art with him.
